Adkins Releases Plan for Energy Security & a Healthy Environment

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Amanda Adkins, Republican candidate for Kansas’ Third Congressional District, released her full plan for American energy security and a healthy environment today.

“America faces an energy crisis perpetuated by Sharice Davids and Joe Biden. We need real leadership and a plan that will consistently provide enough supply at a lower price point,” Adkins said. “It is possible to pursue policies that decrease energy prices, increase U.S. energy security, and promote a healthy environment. That is why I support increasing our domestic supply of energy, increasing focus on the cleanest form of energy – nuclear capacity – and pursuing strategic partnerships that advance our national interests.”

Unfortunately, Congresswoman Sharice Davids has failed to present a real solution to her constituents who are now paying up to $4.79 for a gallon of gas in some parts of the district. Her proposal to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax of $0.18 has been repeatedly criticized by economists on both the Left and Right, and even if it did bring sufficient relief, it is only temporary – most likely set to end after her November midterm election.

Davids voted against the American Energy Independence from Russia Act, and she also votes with Joe Biden one hundred percent of the time. On his first day in office, Biden killed the Keystone Pipeline and increased our dependence on foreign oil. Due to the record inflation caused by Davids and the Democrats’ reckless federal spending, the average Kansas family is paying an additional $450 per month (and $5,500 per year) for goods and services, including gas. Reducing the price of gas by $0.18/gal would alleviate only about $100 of that $5,500 burden. Kansans deserve real solutions that have a meaningful impact on their bills, families, and dreams.
