Amanda Adkins Announces Campaign Manager
Overland Park, Kan. –
Amanda Adkins, Republican candidate for US Congress in Kansas’ Third
Congressional District, announced new hires focused on management, strategy,
policy thought leadership, and advanced digital engagement. The team will be
led by Matt Patterson who will serve as her campaign manager.
An experienced campaign professional, Patterson will focus on a data and
technology driven grassroots effort to counter the increased influence of
outside interests that do not represent the values of Kansas City.
“I am grateful to have Matt join our team as he brings the experience,
commitment and energy needed to defend the conservative, Kansas values I am
running to protect,” Adkins said. “I am committed to the people of this
District and Matt is an integral part of my campaign’s success.”
Patterson has worked numerous political races, both at the Federal and State
levels. He began his career in politics after college, implementing a vast
network of grassroots activists and digital assets for State Senate races throughout
Texas, including the Dallas – Fort Worth area. Patterson also has extensive
experience as a Congressional campaign manager.
Policy thought leadership will be led by Maggie Collins who is assuming the
role of Policy Advisor. Collins has been with the campaign as a Strategic
Advisor since Adkins announced her candidacy in September. Collins is an
experienced leader in public policy and strategy, having served at The White
House and the US Department of Homeland Security. She also worked for Senator Bob
Dole in development for the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the
University of Kansas.
The campaign also announced Alana Roethle as the Director of Engagement.
Roethle is supporting the campaign’s efforts to engage with voters throughout
the District inclusive of leading the Women for Amanda coalition, focusing on
professional women and mothers in the Third District. Roethle is the former
Kansas GOP State Party Secretary and former Executive Director of the 19th
Amendment Centennial.
The Adkins campaign is using proven regional and national campaign leaders
including Axiom Strategies for general consulting, The Prosper Group for
digital strategy and marketing, and Something Else Strategies for media
production.
Since announcing her candidacy, Adkins continues to gain momentum in Kansas’
Third Congressional District. She is the only KS-03 candidate to gain Contender
status from the National Republican Congressional Committee and is supported by
Susan Pompeo, Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO), Congressman Sam Graves (R-MO) and
others.
Adkins worked as a business executive at a global Kansas City based healthcare
and information technology company for 15 years. Prior to that she served as
Professional Staff on the U.S. House Rules Committee and advised on commerce
issues in the US Senate. Adkins is the co-founder of the Dwight D.
Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series which empowers
Republican women in the areas of leadership, government and politics.
As the Kansas Republican Party Chairwoman (2009-2013) she achieved
unprecedented election success. Adkins also founded the nonprofit organization,
Systems of Care Initiative to make targeted investments in young children
preparing them for school and the future workforce.
Adkins graduated from the University of Kansas and has lived in Overland Park
for the past 17 years with her husband of 20 years, Jason, and their two
children.
