Amanda Adkins Wins KS-03 Republican Primary

Overland Park, Kan. – Amanda Adkins was declared the winner of the Republican Primary in Kansas’ Third Congressional District on Tuesday. Adkins will face liberal Democrat Sharice Davids in the general election on November 3rd.

In her victory remarks Tuesday evening, Amanda thanked her family, friends, supporters and the voters of Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District for putting their trust in her. She also challenged her opponent, Sharice Davids, to three debates, one in each county, before the November election.

“I am a freedom loving capitalist and Davids supports Nancy Pelosi,” Adkins said. “Sharice Davids, I have one message for you – we are coming for you this November!”

Adkins won her campaign with a message of accountability, growth opportunity for the region, and building successful paths for all citizens to succeed. In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, Adkins released her Path to Prosperity plan for America.

Adkins is a well-known Republican and community leader. She is also the co-founder of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series which empowers Republican women in the areas of leadership, government and politics. Adkins worked as a business executive at Cerner for 15 years.

Prior to that she served as Professional Staff on the U.S. House Rules Committee and advised on commerce issues in the US Senate. Adkins also founded the nonprofit organization, Systems of Care Initiative to make targeted investments in young children preparing them for school and the future workforce.

Adkins graduated from the University of Kansas and has lived in Overland Park for the past 17 years with her husband of 20 years, Jason, and their two children.
