Adkins Releases New Video Message on Biden & Davids’ Energy Failures
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Amanda Adkins, Republican candidate for Kansas’ Third Congressional District, released a new video message highlighting the crippling effects of Joe Biden and Sharice Davids’ energy policies, namely the high gas prices negatively affecting Kansas families and businesses. The video message can be viewed at https://fb.watch/eg3kq5_EqT/ and will run as a digital ad across the Third District.
While offering solutions to help Kansans, Adkins criticizes the Biden Administration’s American energy restrictions that have been supported by Davids. Unfortunately, their policies are costing the average Kansan more than $600 this year. “Sharice Davids and Joe Biden have made us more dependent on foreign sources of oil, including countries like Russia and Iran. America needs stronger economic growth and strategic partnerships,” Adkins stated in her video.
Immediately following his inauguration, Biden canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline, increased regulations for energy production, and ended energy leases on federal land. All of these policies have crippled American energy production while increasing prices across the country, and Davids has been complicit. Just ten days ago, she voted to keep the American Energy Independence from Russia Act in Committee, effectively preventing it from passing into law and bringing much needed relief to the Kansans she represents.
Adkins’ message is a refreshing contrast to Davids’ federal gas tax holiday ‘solution’. As of March 8, the day Davids voted against American energy independence, the national gas price average was up $0.55 from the prior week. The federal gas tax is currently $0.18/gallon, and the holiday would barely dent inflated gas prices. As she continues voting against permanent solutions to make energy more affordable for her constituents, it is becoming increasingly clear that this holiday is a political gimmick that leaves Kansans paying an additional $0.37/gallon while mistakenly thinking Davids is attempting to solve the crisis.
Davids’ ‘plan’ has been disparaged by transportation groups and provides little, temporary relief to her constituents. Adkins addresses the root of the problem and presents solutions that will bring gas prices down $2/gallon, not save Kansans just $2/week. As Adkins asked at the beginning of her video message, “Are you better off?” Kansans know that when it comes to gas prices, they are not better off with Sharice Davids representing them in DC.
“The map released today is evidence that our democratic process works,” said Adkins. “I welcome the people of Anderson, Franklin, and southern Miami counties to KS-03 and am excited to get to work for the new district, a thriving community of urban, suburban, and rural areas. ”
“KS-03 deserves a Congresswoman who has a plan for our community. There are so many crucial issues that Washington should be working to address right now, from rising prices at the grocery store and the gas pump to the crisis at our southern border,” Adkins stated. “I’m running for Congress to work towards solutions to these issues and to help get our country back on track.”
“My team and I are ready to hit the ground running in the new district and I look forward to representing the people of Anderson, Franklin, Johnson, Miami, and Wyandotte counties in Congress.”
